After sun care – how to restore your bloom

Filed under: Articles, Natural and Organic Beauty — beauty @ 7:40 am

look after your skin at the end of the summerWhile the heat and a little extra colour makes us feel great, staying out in the sun too long can wreak havoc on our skin. Excessive exposure to the sun is one of the major causes of premature skin ageing.

If you stayed out a little too long in the heat this summer, don’t fret. There are some very practical things you can do to help repair damage the sun may have caused. Keeping the skin well hydrated in the weeks following sun exposure is the best way to restore it back to health and keep it looking fresh and radiant.

Your moisturiser should contain vitamin E and rosehip oil of some kind as minimum; vitamin E is great for helping repair the skin after sun exposure including minor sun burn, and rose hip oil has excellent skin regeneration properties and is used to fight wrinkles, restore firmness and as a remedy for sun damaged skin.

AD skin synergy’s award-winning Nourishing Night Treatment facial oil is great as an after sun, as it keeps the skin nourished for 24 hours and the skin’s hydration increases by over 60% just 30 minutes after it is applied!

While this takes care of nourishing the skin from the outside, you can assist in the healing process from within. Drink lots of water on a daily basis to help retain that dewy, fresh faced look.
